NYC Basic Tips and Etiquette

Nathan Pyle has written and illustrated a book of secrets and unwritten rules for living in and visiting New York. The illustrations sit somewhere in between infographics and comic book, and are a great way to use visuals to explain an concept.

Nathan has also made some animated versions of the illustrations too, the book is available at Amazon.

Google's Modular Smartphone

Google's modular phone project Ara is a brainchild of the Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) group. Their aim is to create an open source hardware platform. The modular phone technology would give the phone a longer life span with the use of interchangeable features or upgrades as new technology is released. It means that the phone could truly be customised to the users needs.

Rescape: Turn your world into a game

Rescape is an iPhone game from 13th lab that uses a player's real world environment as the backdrop, allowing you to play first person shooters in your office or home. Watch the video to see it in action and visit their kickstarter if you want to fund the project.

With delightful animation, wonderful sound and fantastic style this animation from Johnny Kelly and writer Scott Burnett is a joy to watch. The video was commissioned by Pivot Dublin for the makeshapechange project which aims to "get young people thinking about how the world is made around them, and where design fits in."
