Atradius Interactive Rich Picture

A flexible visual sales tool we’ve produced for Atradius.
It uses simple animated visual metaphors to explain complex concepts. The format encourages the customer to engage with the story – and allows the presenter to focus on those elements that most interest the customer. The way the presenter tells the story can be infinitely and immediately varied. No more ‘death by PowerPoint’ or presentations that begin 'I’m just going to show you 40 slides of bullet points’!!
It includes a unique ‘drag & drop’ capability to add more detailed files to any slide (PowerPoint, PDF or video) – and a database to change the presentation to another language.

Meet Monkey - Olympics fever...

The BBC have just unveiled this two-minute animation on their website, and it will be broadcast across BBC television in the UK just before 1930 BST this evening. 'The animation, by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett - the team behind Gorillaz - twists the tale of the classical Chinese novel "Journey to the West", turning it into a "Journey to the East" and the Beijing Olympics.' Ollie Williams, BBC (you can watch their creative journey on iplayer).

Its a brave choice of style for the BBC, its not predictable silhouette figures swirling on hoops, lets see how well its received and carried throughout the Olympics experience...

'Stuff white people like'

Caught Christian Lander talking about his blog/book Stuff white people like in Washington DC. What a story. Started the blog on January 17th 2008 - and he's up to 35 million viewers by July - has the book published - and is being interviewed by the press all over. This was his 3rd public talk. Check out his chat to Google on You Tube

‘See what you mean’ are enjoying ‘I Met The Walrus’ a beautifully crafted short film (Academy Award Nominee). Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, Canadian director Josh Raskin has created a visual narrative which romances Lennon’s every word in a cascading multipronged animation. Uber nursery!

We found this nice microsite House 4 kids with cute 3D renders, just our thing - very Rich Picture. Information is a little hard to digest a few more photos and bigger text and maybe some interaction with the environment would be nice, ‘See what you mean’ crew especially like the ice cream van - mines a 99 and a Fab for Matt! Designed by an interesting Scandinavian company buuhouse based in Norway.

Planning Rich Pictures - the shoot

Continuing the 3D Interactive Rich Picture post from June, we've just shot the models for the final image. Finding a nice big site and praying for good weather & natural light, we struck lucky starting the shoot at 06.30. After marking up the site (we used that footage for a studio birthday card - nothing wasted), and positioning the models we shot a guide with a wide angle 28mm. Then we switched to the 200mm lens for individual close ups correcting any distortion in perspective. Good shoot thanks to all, the final composition coming soon...

Go-on streak! It's Friday...

The Web streaker is a lovely bit of viral fun from Vodafone. Pick a site and streak to your hearts content. Not so great on flash sites but a good giggle and nice simple backend idea for a viral campaign to rival the great Orange balloon race. Thanks to Kate & Nic who've been streaking all morning...

Viano. The best place for hereos

Matt at ‘See what you mean’ found this cool little site for Mercedes Viano. A lovely 3D navigation wrapped around what seems like an infinite sphere, the rendering and animation are really sweet - we've not seen anything quite like it. Although we found the link between the car and the film a little strained and the information you can actually get about the vehicle quite limited, but the experience is good fun. Just need to figure out how to make a spherical Rich Picture now!
